ZOOM R8 Multi-Track Tabletop Recorder

ZOOM's R8 8-Track Digital Recorder/Interface/Controller/Sampler is an ultra-portable music production solution that's perfect for the on-the-go artist. This audio accessory offers the same adaptability as the bigger R24 in a more smaller package. The R8 is a USB audio interface, controller, and pad sampler in addition to being an 8-track recorder that writes to SD flash memory cards.The R8 allows for simultaneous recording of two tracks and playback of eight tracks. It can record WAV files at 44.1/48kHz sample rates and 16/24-bit bit rates. For long recordings, the data are saved on SD memory cards with sizes of up to 32GB. There are built-in stereo condenser mics for recording without the need for additional gear. External microphones and instruments can be connected through XLR/TRS combo inputs. On two tracks, 48V phantom power is offered to accommodate condenser microphones. Over 140 DSP effects, including guitar amp simulations and mastering effects, are available to add to your recordings.

You may use the R8 as a high-definition audio interface with your computer because it features a USB port. It supports 24-bit/96kHz sampling speeds and provides 2 x 2 in/out over a USB connection. The Steinberg Cubase LE DAW software is included, so you can start recording, mixing, and editing straight now on your PC. For Cubase, Logic, Sonar, and other popular DAW software, the R8's controls enable full mixing and transport options. For maximum compatibility, the control surface employs Mackie Control emulation. A pad sampler with 8 sounds and a loop-based audio sequencer for song production are also included in the R8. The R8 is extremely versatile, since it can run on 4 regular AA batteries, USB bus power, or the provided AC adapter.
