The Soundcraft Notepad-12FX is a terrific solution whether you need a personal mixer onstage or a simple way to record at home. This 12-channel analog mixer features four superb Soundcraft preamps as well as additional inputs for keyboards and other stereo devices. Onboard is a 4-channel USB audio interface, which is ideal for live recording, music production, DJing, and any other multichannel audio streaming application. Sweetwater's live-sound engineers have long relied on Soundcraft to deliver crystal-clear sound onstage, and their mic pres are a big reason for that. While your condenser mics have +48-volt phantom power onboard, the Notepad-12FX's high-headroom preamps provide sufficient of gain for even the most sluggish dynamic microphones, with enough gain left over to handle abrupt volume spikes that can happen onstage or in the studio. Extra mics, guitars, keyboards, and other instruments can be plugged in via instrument-level inputs on channels 1 and 3, as well as stereo inputs on four additional channels, ensuring that there are enough inputs for the entire band.

In addition to 3-band EQs and 100Hz highpass filters on the preamp-equipped channels, the Notepad-12FX includes a number of real Lexicon effects. A dimensional delay, a lush chorus, and a vast reverb are among the effects available. Each effect has an adjustable parameter (delay and reverb length, chorus intensity) that you can change with a knob, and tap tempo keeps your effects linked to the beat.

When it comes to I/O, the Notepad-12FX certainly doesn't disappoint for a little portable mixer. There are XLR combo connectors and 1/4" jacks including "inputs as well as RCA line inputs There are two XLR outputs that feed the mains (ideal for PA systems and studio monitors), as well as a 1/4" output "There's also a switchable main/auxiliary headphone connector.
