The Soundcraft LX7ii 32 analog mixer belongs to the LX7ii series, which is the second generation of Soundcraft's popular LX7 consoles. Graham Blyth, Soundcraft's creator and resident electronics wizard, updated the mic pre and EQ section on the Lx7ii, bringing the precision and quality seen on their larger, high-end consoles to a smaller, more inexpensive, and beautiful desk. The LX7ii 32 is the ideal mixing option for both recorded and live applications, thanks to its 32 high-quality input channels and simple control surface configuration. Take home the LX7ii 32 if you're on a budget but can't get enough of that flagship, high-end Soundcraft Sound!
Graham Blyth, the founder of Soundcraft, was motivated to give the finest possible sound at the lowest possible price for the client when he designed the Lx7ii 32. Blyth got to work creating the new Lx7ii series with this idea in mind, including the high-end mic pre design seen on Soundcraft's larger consoles into this smaller desk. The end result is remarkable: the Lx7ii sounds incredible and is available for a very low price!
The LX7ii's new four-band EQ is modelled by the MH series' high-end EQ. The slopes of the high and low shelving parts are significantly steeper than typical, which can help eliminate mid-frequency harshness in the high band and the dreaded muddiness in the low. Two swept mid frequencies are also included in the LX7ii, which were carefully chosen for optimal control during live performances. Every band has a 15dB cut or boost, and a bypass button lets you compare treated and untreated sounds without having to totally reset the settings.
With 6 flexible auxiliary sends, the user can choose between monitor or effects oriented mixes. Auxes 1-6 are generally post-fader, post-EQ, but auxes 1-4 can be switched in pairs to be pre-fader, post EQ, making 4 pre-fader foldback mixes or 6 post-fader effects sends possible.
