The Studio Pro M2 is a large-format side-address condenser microphone with an exceptional frequency and transient response. It has a polar response that may be set to omni, cardioid, or figure 8 patterns. It's a great choice for most studio applications, as well as broadcasting, film, and television.
The Studio Pro M2 is a versatile microphone that can be used as a main microphone for symphony recordings, a spot mic for solo instruments, and a vocal microphone for all genres of music and speech. For all polar patterns, the big gold-plated diaphragm capsule provides a very smooth frequency response. The microphone can be placed quite close to the sound source without producing an excessively harsh sound. Interference at subsonic and low frequencies is greatly minimised with the use of a switchable high pass filter. As a result, this switch reduces the proximity effect by cutting the low frequency response.
A second switch has been added for use in applications with high SPL. The microphone can tolerate sound pressure levels up to 140 dB with this 10 dB attenuation option.
