The SENNHEISER's MD431 is a handheld supercardioid dynamic microphone with an extended frequency response for vocal and speech reproduction in concert halls, public address systems, houses of worship, and live stage applications. Its dynamic element has a frequency response of 40 Hz to 18 kHz and does not require any power. The supercardioid polar pattern excels in rejecting sound at its off-axis points, resulting in reduced off-axis coloration and enhanced tolerance to feedback. Extraneous electrical noise is reduced with the use of a hum-compensating coil.
The built-in shock-mounting mechanism lowers handling noise, while the sturdy, metal design provides tour-worthy ruggedness. For quick muting of the mic between talks or performances, a silent, magnetic on/off button is provided. Most microphone preamps and mixer inputs are compatible with the XLR 3-pin output. A quick-release clamp is included with the MD431 II to make mounting to a mic stand a breeze.
