The JBL's PRX710 is the most compact and multipurpose speaker. This powered speaker was designed to give maximum performance for its weight and size. To optimise the system for any application, two user-selectable EQ settings are given. The PRX710 is made up of a 10" woofer, a 2408H-2 neodymium compression driver with a 37.5 mm (1.5 in) annular polymer diaphragm and a 100° by 60° horn, all powered by a 1500 watt Class-D digital power amplifier. User-selectable system EQ, protection, input sensitivity selection, cross-over capabilities, dynamic limiting, and discrete component optimization are all provided by sophisticated DSP at the heart of a fully featured input section.
All PRX710 cabinets are comprised of tongue and groove joints and a combination of 25mm (on the top and bottom for extra strength) and 18mm sturdy, light-weight poplar plywood. For increased strength and durability, the grilles are made of dent-resistant 16 gauge steel, and the handles are made of light-weight glass-filled nylon. All M10 suspension points are made of 14 gauge steel and have been tested to 1000 lbs. of yield strength. The amplifier input panel accepts XLR or 14 inch jack connections, and a sensitivity switch adds even more versatility, allowing you to connect virtually any sound source without the use of a mixer. The presence of a signal and the presence of a limiter light indicate the system's state and aid in the level control knob's selection of the optimal level.
