The JBL's PRX425 dual 2-way passive speaker is an excellent choice for travelling or permanent FOH mains. For 600W of continuous output, the PRX425 has dual 15" woofers and a 1" polymer diaphragm compression driver. The compression driver is fixed to a 90 x 50° horn, which ensures that the sound is distributed evenly. When utilised one-per-side, the 90° coverage angle is large enough to cover an audience, but narrow enough to allow numerous enclosures to be splayed without severe coverage overlap.
The PRX425 features combo connectors that accept both Speakon NL-2 and 1/4" TS connectors. A passive crossover network ensures that sound is reproduced accurately. The enclosure is made of multi-laminate birch/poplar hardwood and is finished with JBL's tough DuraFlex coating. CNC-machined craftsmanship is evident in the 16-gauge steel grille. To provide additional driver protection and a professional appearance, the grilles are inside lined with an acoustically transparent screen. The PRX425 is suspended from twelve M10 points, allowing it to be raised over the audience.
