FBT HIMAXX 60A Powered Speaker
FBT provides a reference point on the scenario of 12" and 15" polypropylene enclosures for sound reinforcement with the new HiMaxX series, providing performance and technological features previously inconceivable. The FBT HiMaxX joins the FBTMaxX family, highlighting all of the technical features.
The FBT R&D team investigated a new polypropylene cabinet, used a switch mode power supply and high efficiency power amplifiers, and redesigned the loudspeakers in order to maximise the power weight ratio.
Three versions are included in this series: two 2-way full-range enclosures in polypropylene, the HiMaxX 40 (12"+1") and HiMaxX 60 (15"+1.4"), as well as a small 18" bandpass SUB in birch plywood (HiMaxX 100Sa).
HiMaxX is a compact and light-weight loudspeaker enclosure that brilliantly meets all of the most demanding needs from audiophiles, musicians, and professionals seeking powerful, versatile, and extremely high-quality loudspeaker enclosures. They're ideal for live and sound reinforcement applications that require portability, but their format and optional accessories also make them suitable for fixed installations.
A powerful dynamic design with clean, forceful lines.
Thanks to its specific mounting points and available attachments, this durable light-weight box ensures tremendous versatility and is ready for installation. The enclosures can be utilised as stage monitors because to their asymmetrical form.
A uniquely designed control panel guarantees intuitive control and convenience of use. Mic/line input, auxiliary stereo input (HiMaxX 40a), three-band EQ, ground-lift, and diagnostic LED
In partnership with B&C, the loudspeaker was completely redesigned. FBT researched and developed a unique chassis, a more effective ventilation circuit with a 2dB "power compression" reduction, a significantly stronger cone to improve reliability and distortion, and a more powerful neodymium magnet to improve control and efficiency. The voice coil is 75 mm (3") in diameter for increased power handling and reliability. High frequencies are even more dramatic and crystal-clear thanks to the use of a shorting copper cap.
The FBT R&D labs have spent years researching and developing the unique amplifier. It uses cutting-edge technology to combine the opposing characteristics of lightness, high power, efficiency, and dependability. A switch mode power supply to reduce weight and boost power output velocity, as well as a very high performance PWM amplifier at low frequencies to maximise power output while reducing heat dissipation. A Class G high-frequency amplifier achieves the audio quality of a Class A while having a much higher output.
The equalisation, 24dB/oct crossover, complex protections, limiter, and control panel commands are all handled by the silent preamplifier made with SMD technology.
The horn's contour has been altered to improve directivity control and reduce distortion. The angle of dispersion is 90°H x 60°V.
The development of a polypropylene box with injection of perfectly inert GAS and effective reflex ducts free of unwanted turbulence was based on research conducted with the university on the cabinet's resonance and the fluid dynamics of the air.
