ALTO's ACOM2 2-Channel Compressor/Limiter/Gate is a versatile dynamic processor with a variety of circuit designs. This signal processor has a low-distortion VCA, an adjustable Expander/Gate, and clever and quick detection of the source content (Voltage Control Amplifier). It combines two full-featured compressors into a single compact, ultra-low-noise rack unit to provide optimum clarity and smooth level control in any professional audio application. The ACOM2 can be used as two separate mono processors or linked together to create genuine stereo compression. Switching between mono and stereo is as simple as pressing a button.The intelligent attack and release switch on the ACOM2 can automatically adjust the unit's attack and release to the source signal, or you may modify it manually. The signal route is reduced, and the VCA is of excellent quality, resulting in optimal temperature stability, low noise, and little distortion.The Expander / Gate on the ACOM2 also provides all of the controls you'll need to suppress or prevent unwanted noise. External effects loops or other popular compressor uses like ducking are possible using the sidechain function. A switchable low-cut filter is used in a second internal sidechain to help limit pumping caused by heavy low-frequency material. The ACOM2 provides steady, smooth performance that does not degrade or colour your signal.
