The AKG's P120 is a condenser microphone that designed to deliver crisp, distortion-free sound. The sturdy all-metal body of this side-address mic not only adds to its longevity, but also helps it resist RF interference from sources like wireless systems. It includes a stand adaptor for easy installation on your existing mic stand. The 0.67" gold-sputtered diaphragm produces a detailed sound with a little high-frequency increase over 10 kHz and can withstand SPLs up to 150 dB (-20 pad on) without perceptible distortion. A mild low-cut filter set to 300 Hz can be used to eliminate rumble, wind noise, and even bass accumulation caused by up-close miking. The cardioid polar pattern of the microphone, which is most sensitive to sound in front of the microphone, reduces stage bleed and background noise.
